Pernicious water problems

Natalie Everett's article in the current Rebel Yell (UNLV's student newspaper) explores where the blame lies for Southern Nevada's pernicious water problems. The article cites the Southern Nevada Water Authority in stating that more than 85,000 acre feet of water are wasted each year in the Las Vegas area because of improper irrigation (broken sprinklers, watering sidewalks etc.)

Water workshop to be held in Ely

The Ad Hoc Nevada Water Network is sponsoring a July 20th workshop in Ely, Nevada. The workshop will focus on the consequences of importing rural water to Clark County.

UNITED STATES, 426 U.S. 128 (1976) - 1976 Supreme Court decision affirming the Ninth Circuit that as of 1952 when the United States reserved Devil's Hole, it acquired by reservation water rights in unappropriated appurtenant water sufficient to maintain the level of the underground pool to preserve its scientific (426 U.S. 128, 129) value and thereby implement the Presidential Proclamation.
